Shannon Receives Distinctions for Nursing Services and Cardiac Care

Shannon Medical Center was recently surveyed by the Center for Improvement in Healthcare Quality (CIHQ) and has successfully met the requirements for the Center of Excellence Designation – Nursing Services and for Disease Specific Certification – Primary Heart Attack Center.

Shannon underwent a rigorous onsite survey process in July 2024, which evaluated Shannon’s compliance with evidence-based standards of care developed with industry healthcare experts and nationally recognized agencies. The survey included reviewing medical records, observing patient care in the hospital, and interviewing patients and hospital staff and leadership. CIHQ’s primary goal is to help healthcare organizations determine and improve performance through the survey process.
