Amanda Weaver, MD, CAQSM – Primary Care Sports Medicine/Musculoskeletal

Dr. Weaver received her undergraduate degree from Angelo State University where she played four years with the Rambelle Basketball team. She then received her medical degree from the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in Lubbock and completed her residency in family medicine and her fellowship in sports medicine through Waco Family Medicine in Waco.

Dr. Weaver is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and completed a Certificate of Additional Qualification (CAQ) in sports medicine. She has a specialized focus in caring for female athletes of all ages and will be the team doctor for Angelo State University women’s athletics. She also specializes in non-operative issues of the musculoskeletal system including sprains and strains and degenerative joint issues.

Maria Chiejina, MD – Gastroenterology

Dr. Chiejina received her undergraduate and medical degrees from Igbinedion University in Okada, Nigeria. She then completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Texas Tyler Health Science Center in Longview, Texas and her fellowship in gastroenterology at Ochsner LSU Health in Shreveport, Louisiana. Dr. Chiejina comes to Shannon from Austin Regional Clinic and previously served as an associate professor at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple.

Dr. Chiejina is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Laura Escobedo, DPM – Podiatry

Dr. Escobedo earned her undergraduate degree at Angelo State University and her medical degree at Midwestern University – Arizona School of Podiatric Medicine in Glendale, Arizona. She then completed her podiatric medicine and surgery residency at Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine – Baylor Scott & White Podiatry in Temple, Texas.

Stephanie Evans Cope, Ph.D., APRN, CPNP-PC, CLC – Pediatrics

Stephanie received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth and her Master of Science in Nursing from Wright State University in Fairborn, Ohio with a focus in Child and Adolescent Health. She then completed her Doctorate in Philosophy with an emphasis in Nursing Education at the University of Northern Colorado in Greely, Colorado. Stephanie also completed the KySS Mental Health Fellowship: Child and Adolescents through The Ohio State University. Her primary practice emphasis is child and adolescent mental health in the primary care setting.

Stephanie has over 25 years of experience providing care to pediatric patients. She was a professor of nursing for over 20 years teaching across all levels of nursing while continuing to practice as a pediatric nurse practitioner. Stephanie is also a veteran of the United States Air Force Nurse Corp.

Kenneth Rose, MD – Internal Medicine

Dr. Rose earned his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University in College Station and his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He then completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Dr. Rose returns to Shannon from Avalon Medical Group in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, where he practiced internal medicine for over 17 years. He is now accepting new patients at his office, located at Shannon Clinic – Beauregard (120 E. Beauregard. Ave.). Daphne Estrada, MSN, APRN, AGACNP-BC – Cardiac Electrophysiology

Daphne earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Angelo State University. She then received her Master of Science in Nursing – Administration and her Post-Graduate Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certificate from the Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Lubbock. Daphne has over twenty years of experience providing care in acute and intensive care and cardiology settings and is fluent in Spanish. Daphne is certified as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Andrea Wears, MD – Emergency Medicine

Dr. Wears earned her undergraduate degree from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls. She then completed her medical degree and her emergency medicine residency at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock.

Bharat Meenavalli, MD – Palliative Care

Dr. Meenavalli received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Universidad de Ciencias Medical in San Jose, Costa Rica. He then completed his internal medicine residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in Bronx, New York and a fellowship in hospice and palliative medicine at Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
