About Provider Evans Cope
Stephanie received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth and her Master of Science in Nursing from Wright State University in Fairborn, Ohio with a focus in Child and Adolescent Health. She then completed her Doctorate in Philosophy with an emphasis in Nursing Education at the University of Northern Colorado in Greely, Colorado. Stephanie also completed the KySS Mental Health Fellowship: Child and Adolescents through The Ohio State University. Her primary practice emphasis is child and adolescent mental health in the primary care setting.
Stephanie has over 25 years of experience providing care to pediatric patients. She was a professor of nursing for over 20 years teaching across all levels of nursing while continuing to practice as a pediatric nurse practitioner. Stephanie is also a veteran of the United States Air Force Nurse Corp.
She is actively involved with the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, (NAPNAP) specifically focused on work with the Developmental, Behavioral, and Mental Health interest group. Stephanie was appointed to the National Youth Suicide Task Force for NAPNAP. The Youth Suicide Task Force is working to increase awareness and education of health care providers through an alliance network across the nation. Stephanie’s scholarship and publications include clinical guidelines, clinical books, book chapters, articles and was the lead author on the NAPNAP Position Statement on Care for the LGBTQ+ youth by PNPs. She has presented her research at the local, regional, state, national and international levels.
