Oncology Patient Navigation
A Guiding Hand on Your Side Every Step of the Way
When you or a loved one faces a cancer diagnosis it can be a confusing and overwhelming time. At Shannon, we understand the flood of questions and concerns that arise with cancer, and it is our goal to help you navigate the process.
Every one of our oncology patients has access to a dedicated patient navigator, who is an oncology certified (OCN)registered nurse that understands and empathizes with your needs. Your navigator works as your advocate, providing guidance and moral support throughout your journey.
Your patient navigator can assist you with:
- Coordinating referrals for oncology care
- Helping you engage in services and resources
- Helping you understand your personalized plan of care
- Providing you with information to make your visit easier
- Helping decrease barriers to care
From initial diagnosis and biopsy to treatment and post-treatment recovery, our goal is to be by your side from start to finish—helping you and your loved ones find answers to your every question. Your patient navigator is extensively familiar with not only Shannon’s Oncology Center but also all supporting departments and associated clinical trials, so your point of contact provides you access to everything Shannon has to offer.
