Comprehensive Medical Care For Families
Welcome! Thank you for choosing Shannon Clinic Pediatrics for your child's medical care. We provide care from the first day of life until the end of the teenage years. Choosing a pediatric provider is an important decision for your family, so we thought we might share a bit about our pediatric team.
Whether it's an annual check-up or treatment for a serious illness, our pediatricians take your child's health as seriously as you do. Our pediatric team includes board certified pediatricians trained in all phases of pediatric care, including well-child care and immunizations to acute and chronic medical conditions such as respiratory, gastrointestinal and infectious diseases. We also address developmental and school problems, such as ADHD.
We are here to help, so call us at 325.747.1511 if there is any question we can answer about your child’s health or development.
Our pediatric services include:
- General physicals and exams
- Newborn and infant care
- Adolescent care
- Diagnosis and treatment for acute and chronic illness
- Camp, school, and sports physicals
- Immunizations and screenings
- Preventative care
- After-hours care
After-Hours Care
For after-hours medical questions, please call our medical exchange number at 325.747.2002. A nurse will call you back within the hour.
In case of an emergency, please dial 911 or go straight to an emergency room.
Pediatric Urgent Care
We try our very best to accommodate our patients when they are not feeling well, but sometimes during peak illness seasons we cannot see everyone on the same day. Our Pediatric Urgent Care Clinic, located inside the downtown Shannon Pediatrics Clinic, provides exceptional care for minor medical needs when you are unable to see your regular pediatrician. Patients may be seen by appointment or on a walk-in basis.

Common Newborn Questions
Below are general questions we routinely receive from our patients and parents. Your child's health is important, and we encourage you to contact your pediatrician's office if you have any concerns.
When Do I Need to Make an Appointment for My Newborn?
Most newborns need to be seen by their pediatrician several days after discharge from the hospital. Please contact our office to set up an appointment with a pediatrician.
Is it Normal for a Newborn Baby to Lose Weight? If So, How Much Is Too Much?
After birth, it is expected for a newborn baby to lose some weight, as nearly all infants experience early weight loss in the first 5 to 7 days. 5 percent weight loss is considered normal for formula-fed babies, and 7 to 10 percent weight loss is normal for breast-fed babies. Most babies should regain this lost weight within 10 to 14 days of age. If you have further concerns, you should contact your pediatrician's office.
What Is the Recommended Vaccination Schedule?
Our clinic generally follows the vaccination schedule recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. See the CDC Vaccination Schedule
