Shannon’s Sports Medicine services have been a pioneer in sports medicine since 1988. Its staff, led by orthopedic surgeon and medical director Stacy Beaty, M.D., and athletic trainer Mark W. Duncan, LAT/ATC, includes licensed and certified athletic trainers and physical therapists, who provide care and event coverage to athletes across a large region of West Texas.

Dr. Beaty is the only orthopedic surgeon in the Concho Valley to complete fellowship training in sports medicine. He works collaboratively with physician Andrew King, DO, CAQSM, who is board certified in Sports Medicine and certified in ImPACT Concussion Assessment.

Our San Angelo sports medicine team helps athletes regain their capabilities through referrals to medical services, physical therapy, and the use of the latest rehabilitative equipment. The state-of-the-art facility also offers special pre- and post-operative rehabilitation and strength and flexibility testing. In addition, Shannon Sports Medicine works to educate students about sports injury prevention.
